NADRA AND AL KISSMAN ANNOUNCE
CLOSURE OF NADRA K REAL ESTATE
KURT HAUSEMAN OF COLDWELL BANKER
RESIDENTIAL BROKERAGE RECOMMENDED TO TAKE OVER NADRA K RELATIONSHIPS.
NEW BUFFALO,
MI: After 37 years in the real estate business, Nadra and Al Kissman
have decided to slow down. As of October 1, 2011, the “doors”
of Nadra K Real Estate will symbolically close.
“Al and
I are ready to enjoy our “golden years” more fully,
particularly with our children, grandchildren and friends. We’ve
had a great run and are truly thankful for the wonderful staff,
clients, customers, fellow Realtors and New Buffalo high school
co-op students that we have had the pleasure to work with over the
years,” stated Nadra. “I am enormously pleased to announce
that I am recommending Kurt Hauseman of Coldwell Banker Residential
Brokerage in New Buffalo, MI to all our past clients and customers,
many of whom we are now honored to also call friends. Kurt offers
the same sense of commitment and customer service that Al and I
have brought to Nadra K and we believe that he will work to keep
the 'Nadra K spirit' alive.”
“It is
an honor to have Nadra and Al’s confidence in me to provide
the same high level of customer service that they have maintained
over the past 37 years. My hope is to follow in their footsteps
and become a pillar of the community as well,” said Kurt Hauseman.
As a Coldwell Banker agent, Kurt will have a personal office in
the former Nadra K Real Estate building located at 16678 Red Arrow
Highway, next to Skip’s Restaurant.
Natives of Harbor Country, Nadra and Al graduated from New Buffalo
High School as did their four children. They have shared a marriage
of 57 years as well as many business and civic activities. Al served
several terms on the New Buffalo School Board and Nadra was one
of the founders of The Harbor Country Chamber of Commerce. Al’s
commercial construction background and Nada’s real estate
experience have combined to make Nadra K Real Estate a true “Harbor
Country Original,” offering thoughtful, solid service for
buyers and sellers through the years. Also area history buffs, the
Kissmans helped found two museums: The New Buffalo Railroad Museum
and the Wilkinson Heritage Museum in Lakeside.
Nadra and Al
first entered the realm of real estate in the 1960’s, with
partners, Guy and Marie Mann, by purchasing an old apple orchard
off Marquette Drive to create Orchard Acres subdivision. Al helped
build several homes there and with a growing interest in real estate,
Nadra became an agent, then associate broker with Lakeshore Realty.
In April of 1980 Nadra, Al and Katha Kissman opened Nadra K Real
Estate with the area’s signature lakefront development, Timber
Lane Estates as its major client. Karla Kissman Madison helped out
while attending NBHS, and after college became office and marketing
manager until the present. Since then, Nadra has received many MLS
production honors including several Diamond and Platinum awards,
largely (in her words) due to help and support from her husband
and daughters here and from her sons via long distance.
While Nadra
intends to keep her license active with Coldwell Banker for the
near future, she will act largely as a referral agent to Kurt Hauseman.
You will most likely see the Kissmans at granddaughters Lena and
Jade Madison’s sports events (3rd generation NBHS!) and other
Bison activities, with some time off to visit Las Vegas.
An Open House
will be held on September 18, 2011 from 2:00-5:00 pm at Nadra K
Real Estate, 16678 Red Arrow Highway, for those who may wish to
help give Nadra and Al their best wishes in person.
